Sea Horses & Pipe Fish

The strange-looking Syngnathids attract much attention whenever they are seen, and the temptation to keep some species is strong. But they all require a peaceful environment, away from boisterous more “conventional” fish species. They are best kept in their own species tank, where the environment may be designed specially to meet their needs.
Candy Pipefish need special thought when accommodating them. A seahorse aquarium would be an ideal environment, or at least where the other aquarium occupants are entirely peaceful and suitably slow, searching, feeders.
The Caribbean species of Longsnout Seahorse has a wonderful ability to adjust its colour to blend with its background. To maintain the reds, yellows, and orange colours of the fish as they are brought from the wild, it is necessary to have some colourful décor in their aquarium.
